To provide supplementary air search capability for the Canadian Armed Forces and,

To promote safety in general aviation

CASARA is a federally incorporated, not for profit corporation. The aim, objective and purpose of CASARA is to provide an organized and trained group of volunteers to aid and assist the Department of National Defence in the conduct of Search and Rescue, and Transport Canada in the promotion of Aviation Safety. CASARA is requested to provide this assistance by virtue of a Memorandum of Understanding and a Contribution Agreement with each government department.

CASARA Ontario is a member organization of the national Civil Air Search and Rescue Association. We have Units located in ten provincial cities. Please visit our UNITS page for an organization near you.
